If the payoff is higher than the purchase price, the difference must be resolved before the sale can be completed. Lease purchases depend on the leasing company’s rules.

Typically, you will need a government-issued photo ID, vehicle title if available, registration and all keys. If there is a loan, have your lender and payoff information ready. All required owners must participate. We confirm the exact documents for your situation before pickup; do not send ID or financial account documents with your initial inquiry.

Disclose any accidents, body damage or mechanical problems and share photos. Our team reviews the condition and lets you know whether the vehicle qualifies for an offer. Not every vehicle will qualify.

List any modifications, including engine, suspension, exhaust or cosmetic changes. We review modified vehicles individually and confirm eligibility and pricing after reviewing the details.

Select the correct title history in your request. These vehicles require additional review; submitting a request does not guarantee that we can purchase the car. We will confirm eligibility before moving forward.

Tell us if the registration is expired or missing. We will review the title, registration status and any outstanding requirements before confirming whether we can complete the purchase.

We coordinate vehicle and document verification, confirm any lender payoff and provide the final purchase terms. Once you agree to those terms, we arrange the paperwork, payment and pickup with you.

We pay sellers by cashier’s check. For added confidence, you can contact the issuing bank directly using a phone number you independently obtain to ask about verification; verification is subject to the bank’s policies. You may also arrange to meet us at the bank and be present when the cashier’s check is issued. We coordinate the appointment, paperwork and vehicle handoff with you. Any lender payoff is confirmed separately before the sale.

We are happy to review a current written CarMax, Carvana or dealer offer. Proof is required and must identify the vehicle, amount, expiration date and conditions. We cannot guarantee a match or a higher price.
